There is a tradition (I don't know from where!) that St. John the evangelist (writer of the Gospel) was asked by a disciple, 'Why is it that all you talk about, all you write about, is love? Why not, at least once, talk about something else?' His response was, "If you know and have love . . . you don't need anything else". Beautiful quote from Saint Mechtilde.
