Off to the Upper Mississippi

"Along the Upper Mississippi every hour brings something new. There are crowds of odd islands, bluffs, prairies, hills, woods and villages--everything one could desire to amuse the children. Few people ever think of going there, however."

  1. Isn't that usually the case....gorgeous picture, by the way. She looks so wistful, like she'd thinking of pleasant things.

  2. Thank you very much--I liked the picture, too. I identified with the pose because I can dream for hours when I'm looking out at a river or lake or ocean. There's just something about moving water that promotes contemplation and daydreaming.
