“Faith is not simply a patience that passively suffers until the storm is past. Rather, it is a spirit that bears things - with resignations, yes, but above all, with blazing, serene hope.”
Faith is definitely NOT passive. We are actively filled with faith. This activity within us allows us to achieve many things. Finding peace in a fallen world is one of them. Through our faith we know that God is with us even at our worst moments in life. We do not simply wait with passivity for events to unfold. Faith requires action on our parts. As we know, without faith we cannot please God. Interestingly enough, without faith we find little pleasure in life that is of lasting value.
Your words are wise, Hannah, and true. Faith is a gift from God, Who is Love; and Love is ever active, though our eyes often fail to see this. Love is, and Love does; and Love's gift of faith enables us to be and to do: and to love. Thank you for writing, and may God bless you.
Thank you very much, Oddyoddyo13, for your very nice words. This picture seemed so joyful, and it seemed to embody hope; I'm glad that you liked it. May God bless you.

ReplyDeleteI love how beautifully the pictures and the words blend together-as though the words were made for the picture, and the picture taken for the words.
