Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ

“Life is this simple: We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent and God is shining through it all the time. This is not just a fable or a nice story. It is true. If we abandon ourselves to God and forget ourselves, we see it sometimes, and we see it maybe frequently. God shows Himself everywhere, in everything - in people and in things and in nature and in events. It becomes very obvious that He is everywhere and in everything and we cannot be without Him. It's impossible. It's simply impossible. The only thing is that we don't see it."

  1. I loved the analogy of this, it was so perfect; life being transparent and God the only thing shining through.

  2. The key to these statements is this - forgetting ourselves. That is the hard part of our lives. We hang on to ourselves too much. We do not see God because "we" are too important to ourselves.

  3. Thank you both for your beautiful and inspired comments. Yes, it is so: the more we empty ourselves of ourselves, the more room we make for God. Without Him, we are truly empty vessels: with Him, we can be saints. May God bless you both.
