Words

“Do not assume that she who seeks to comfort you now, lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. Her life may also have much sadness and difficulty, that remains far beyond yours. Were it otherwise, she would never have been able to find these words.”

--Rainer Maria Rilke

  1. These words are so very true. We comfort others by understanding. We understand by having experienced the same or similar or worse than the person to whom we are giving comfort.

  2. Something to remember, definitely. How could we forget that we're not the only ones that face hard times?

Lovely picture-its kind of sad, to be honest though.

  3. Thank you, ladies, for your very nice comments. The picture is of Saint Mary Magdalen, which explain the sadness which you saw in it, Oddyoddyo13. But by God's grace, she overcame her sinful past and is now with God in Heaven. That surely is a most comforting thought. May God bless you both.
