Sunshine

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadow.”

  1. What a truly remarkable and inspiring woman Helen Keller was. She was blind and deaf and look at all she accomplished in this life. Her spirit was beyond measure. She left a mark in this world that few will ever duplicate. Kindred Spirit, some times I can't find the sunshine. And yet, I know that it really is there all of the time. Our Lord is that Sunshine. Some times we cannot see what is right in front of us. Some times His warmth is temporarily swallowed up by the cold sadness of this life. But, hope and faith continue on.

  2. Yes, Hannah, your words, as always, are true and wise. Even the Little Flower spent long periods of time without being able to see the Sun; yet her faith in the little way shown to her by Him illuminated her way in the darkness. Helen Keller was such an undaunted soul, and her teacher Annie Sullivan was also. It is confidence in Our Lord that carries us ever onward. May He richly bless you and your loved ones, dear Hannah.

  3. A wonderful statement and so worth living. Helen Keller knew about sunshine. Sunshine is a gift from God, as Hannah said, His Son. If we always seek His face, we will experience His life in us even when we think He is behind the clouds. I think God wants us always to be looking for Him and that's why sometimes He hides from us.

  4. Thank you very much for your beautifully inspiring words, Barb. Yes, I believe that the good God wants us to seek Him, even as He seeks us. He is the Light of the world and, though it seems to be dark at times, it is just an illusion: the Light shines ever before us, if only our eyes can see it. It's so nice to have you here, Barb. May God bless you and your dear ones.
