Faith and works

Faith without works is like a bird without wings; though she may
hop with her companions on earth, yet she will never fly with
them to heaven.

  1. I thought about this quote all day long. Of course, the Bible says pretty much the same thing. Some of us are not in a position to show our "works". This has always bothered me. If you looked at my life, you would not see visible signs of "works". But, I know with all of my heart that God sees the invisible and silent "works" that people often do not notice. One of these would be praying fervently for others. Silent prayer surely is considered a "work" even if no one hears it besides God Himself.

  2. I think that God does the great works, anyway.
However, it is necessary to live in accord with our faith. Maybe, one day, Jesus will say us: "Come, ye blessed of My Father, for I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me ..."

  3. Such beautiful comments, dear ladies! Yes, it is the good God Himself who works through us, but only with our consent. His grace enables us to do the good that He wills for us all, and that can be summed up in one word: Love. It is everything. If we truly love, that is all that matters. Thank you for writing, and may Almighty God shower you with graces.
