Fulton Sheen. <3 And leisure, a topic very dear to my heart now that summer vacation is in progress. :-) God bless!
Thank you very much for your nice comments, Clare. I am on vacation (albeit a brief one) now, and so these words are very apt for me. May God bless you and your dear ones.
I'm visiting from This That and the Other Thing's Catholic Carnival. What beautiful images! Thanks for sharing :)
"silence, not noiselessness" I will never forget those words! Of course, I love Rev. Fulton Sheen. My Lutheran father used to be perched in front of the TV screen when Rev. Sheen came on and gathered me to watch with him. One reads so much about "silence", but to a deaf person, silence generally means "noiselessness". I love how he says that silence is not that, it is a contemplative mood. That kind of silence is most welcome. Dear Kindred Spirit may you have a wonderful and refreshing vacation!
A great quote from a great priest. I am so happy his cause for canonization is advancing. I never thought of those leisure things I do as "silence".Please keep joining us at Sunday Snippets. Although I visit your blog from time to time, SS is a great reminder to come here at least once a week.
Welcome, NotJustReading! It's so nice to have you here, and I thank you for your nice comments. Thank you, too, dear Hannah: I thought of you when I found this quote, and I'm so happy that you like it. And thank you, too, Barb, for your very nice words; it's so good to have you with us once again! May God bless you all.
