  2. Ann is right, the painting is lovely! Eliot was right but sometime it is difficult to convince ourselves...

  4. I heard someone point out on a radio program recently, that there are two instances of a charcoal fire in the Bible. The first, was where Peter denies Christ three times. The second, is when the resurrected Christ asks Peter, "do you love me?" and "Feed my sheep." Here is to the God of second chances.

  5. Thank you very much, Ann, Noelle, and Joann for your very nice comments. I'm so glad that you liked this. The artist is Daniel Ridgway Knight, and he's one of my favorites; and I find so much hope in George Eliot's words for, as we know, nothing is impossible with God.

Eutychus, it's so good to see you back again! I hope that all is well in your corner of the world. Thank you so much for your insightful comments. "The God of Second Chances" is a phrase I shall hope to remember always--for there is so much hope in those words.

May Almighty God bless you all, and may Our Lady protect you.
